I started using a life journal 5 years ago and the only thing that has changed my life more than this tool was my initial "meeting" with Christ. The reading plan and SOAP method provide me the structure I need for application and consistency. I use it daily and share it regularly with people as a discipleship tool.

I am a military spouse and attended New Hope from July 2004 - Sept 2006 - I was introduced to journaling and have continued to this day - it has been the most significant factor in my life that has caused me to grow in Christ - I was never consistent in my bible reading - never disciplined - but now I look forward to it and I am amazed of how much I learn and how I feel God actually speaks to me personally now - I am not so much concerned about other people and what they should be doing as much as I am concerned about what I should be doing and what God is speaking to me to do. Every Christian should have a time alone with God for growth and personal development with their Father - The journaling helps me to go back and reflect and capture what God was saying to me on a specific date. My journals are my books of mini sermons to me and maybe to others if I am given the opportunity to share. Journaling has also helped me to develop many of my Toastmaster speeches.
The most phenomenal thing about journaling is the scriptures that I find, i.e. "....My people are clever at doing wrong but no talent for doing right .."(Jer 22:3) Isn't that an awesome description of how we can be?
People are concerned about what to leave their children, money, jewelry, land, etc. I don't think there is anything more valuable than leaving a piece of your heart to your children. My goal is to leave my journals to my children when the Lord calls me home.
I am also praying that God will use me to introduce journaling to my current church and they will embrace it as well.
Thanks New Hope - I will always be grateful for the green pastures that God allowed us to graze in at New Hope.

I have been a Christian for 15 years and finally found a way to get through the Bible and journal. I am out of pages and buying more. Thanks!
